The title of the CD is User Stories, and an audience member asks him to explain what a User Story is, yet he still doesn’t even explain it. U(Unless he lulled me to sleep and I missed it?) Tons of math computing how great XP is and all, but no methodology. No tangible information. Speaker constantly refers to slide you can’t see, and spouts ancillary details but really never establishes a foundation or mental framework to build upon. You find yourself waiting for it to “really” start for the whole 68 minuutes. I actually made a special trip out of my way to write this negative review which I’ve never done before. I cannot recommend this CD.

The audio book is a great addition to my listening collection. It provided multiple techniques to use in the agile environment. It also contained excellent supporting material. I definitely recommend this selection.

  3. I thought this was a good presentation and follow up questions on agile requirements gathering especially for a systems engineer who just wants to get a flavor of agile development or if they are thinking of running an agile project.

  4. Interesting format. I thought I was getting a book. Maybe it would help if I read a bit farther. This is an audio CD. The presentation is interesting enough, although there are some distractions (you can here the orator writing on the overhead and some of the questions are very faint in the background).

There is better material out there but this is a nice supplement to have.

  5. I now know what the XP development cycle should be and what good User Stories should look like. This will help me with my PM tasks in this type of environment. Cool.
